In a world full of toxic fast-fashion, Chunky Boy strives to maintain a zero-waste policy, with little to no ecological footprint. 100% Handmade, 100% Slow-fashion, 100% Zero-waste designs.
COMMUNTIY SUPPORT: Chunky Boy supports local community by donating 10% of profits to Djirra. With a minimum monthly contribution of $50 AUD. Djirra is an Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation, making a real difference to the lives of Aboriginal women and their children in Victoria, Australia. Chunky Boy also donates one beanie for every beanie sold online to someone in need. These beanies are regularly donated to passionate community organisations helping people who are experiencing homelessness and/or domestic violence. For example Djirra and The Sacred Heart Mission.
EVERY PRODUCT IS HANDMADE: Each product is hand knitted on a domestic bulky machine and then hand stitched. A bulky machine is a large hand operated tool that knits yarn into fabric. The only electricity used in the making is a quick steam press under an iron. Every step is carefully calculated to utilise materials and ensure there is minimal excess of yarn. All yarn excess is made into pom poms.
WE SUPPORT LOCAL BUSINESSES: Chunky Boy locally sources 100% Australian Wool in 8 – 12 ply from Bendigo Woollen Mills and Wangaratta Woollen Mills which are both located within Victoria, Australia. Chunky Boy loves supporting local communities and keeping all manufacturing processes within Australia.
COMMITTED TO ENVIRONMENTAL SUSTAINABILITY: All items are shipped in compostable mailers from The Better Packaging Co. and the shipping labels are compostable too! We send via Sendle, Australia’s first 100% carbon neutral delivery service.
