Can you share a little more about your values?

All Millie Askew garments have been designed with an ethical and sustainable approach. Garments are made in small runs and made to order. All garments are made locally ensuring the manufacturing is as transparent as possible. All fabrics are sourced from local suppliers and we aim to use natural fibres as much as possible.

Which particular fabrics do you use?

I try my best to use natural fibres where possible and love working with linens, cottons and wool. I love using linen as it requires much less water and processing than a lot of other fibres. I use Merino Wool for my knitwear because of how special this fibre is. It is super warm, lightweight, absorbs odour and most importantly it is a natural product. I use Oilskin fabric which is a 100% cotton that is waxed using linseed oil. It’s a pretty old school fabric but is waterproof and windproof and is a more sustainable option than polyesters for wet weather gear.

Can you share some labels you admire?

Penny Sage, Ovna Ovich, Havilah Label, Layplan, Jpalm, Harry Were… to many to name them all!
