Can you share a little more about your values?

Treekid is a Melbourne based kids clothing label focused on reducing the impact that fashion manufacturing has on the environment by designing unique and colourful garments that will adjust as your little ones grow over time.

We believe that taking care of every single step in our supply chain is fundamental to achieving sustainability. That’s why at Treekid, we are constantly researching and implementing better practices and solutions in the selection of the fabrics, manufacturing processes and distribution.

Treekid designs are developed paying careful attention to the impact on society and the environment, to ultimately achieve their goal to become a circular fashion label. We are accredited by Ethical Clothing Australia which means every person involved in our manufacturing is treated with respect, is paid properly and works in a safe environment, and also that all our products are manufactured in Melbourne. By Linking with The Social Studio, also accredited by ECA, we help to provide social support and formal training in clothing production, retail and fashion to asylum seekers and immigrants, like our founder Carla.

In our production, we recycle and upcycle pre-loved jeans and fabric off cuts, whatever is left is sent to UPPAREL, who will upcycle all our waste into colourful socks. Also, we have chosen to use the amazing recycled denim by The New Denim Project, as one of our main fabrics which is made from denim waste and also we’re always very careful in the selection of our fabrics which are mainly natural, no plastic contains. We’re vegan, only natural plant based dyes are used in one of our products. Hardware is not used in our products because we’re aiming to become a circular label in the near future.

TreeKid was created mainly to give ethical and sustainable choices to parents to reduce the fashion footprint by equipping their kids’s wardrobe with true quality, adjustable and hard-wearing garments that will grow, up to 4 sizes, with the little ones over time and also last to pass along to future generations. A full section of transparent pricing is about to be added in our product pages detailing the cost of each one. Finally, our packaging is totally plastic free, made from recycled paper and upcycled fabrics.
