Who makes your clothes?
All pieces are made in Indooroopilly, Brisbane, by a team of amazing women who work together in the Nelson Molloy Studio.
Can you share a little more about your values?
Ethical: Nelson Molloy chooses to make garments that are super practical and timeless. A buy for life concept that takes women through the ages .
Locally made: All garments are made in Brisbane, either in the Indooroopilly studio or at the home studios of the team.
Made to order: A selection of garments are individually crafted based on customers specific requirements or if we are focusing on exclusivity.
Minimal Waste: The Chasing Zero project was born from the need to utilise all fabric waste. This project enables diversified techniques and embellishment to become the focus on everyday silhouettes. Our studio is consistently chasing zero waste.
Sustainable: Nelson Molloy prioritises natural fibres for the earths sake and ageless silhouettes for garment longevity.
Transparent: We know we’re not perfect at ticking every box but we are happy to answer any question about any process.
Which particular fabrics do you use?
We mainly use natural fibres : Cotton, Linen, Viscose, Hemp, Silk, and Lyocell. We choose these fibres because they feel better on the skin and at the end of their life they become at one with the earth.
Any extra efforts you make at Nelson Molloy that you can share?
The Chasing Zero Project was born from the recognition that textile waste is a massive problem. To increase awareness we decided to rework the scraps and give them a new life with a different aesthetic and appeal. We strive to make the studio circular, pattern paper and general waste is recycled into the swing tags. We are consistently finding new ways to chase zero waste.
